Arrived at Hill Head at 4 o'clock, the wind blowing all the way down. On arrival it was obviously windy with several people reporting being overcanvassed on 5.7s so I took a chance on a 4.7 which proved ideal. Unfortunately I'd left my wave board behind and had to bounce around on the Skate. Around 7 o'clock the wind dropped and everybody came off the water so it seemed like a good time to derig. By the time I had packed up the wind had returned and a second shift had appeared to take to the water. An excellent day topped off with some great light - shafts of sunlight lighting up the beauty that is Fawley power station. In fact I'm looking at an impressive sunset right now, the trees still blowing around.

I just love cold fronts and north west winds.
